My son Aaron Paul Jackson attended WEE WISDOM School off Collins Ave. in 1965-67 era, and by 1968 enrolled at ST. ANDREWS SCHOOL at what is CENTREVILLE HOUSE.
I would be pleased to provide my recollections . photographs and comments on this period of our lives, ( Nassau from 1964 - 72 )
before ST.ANDREWS SCHOOL moved to NASSAU EAST.
We lived for a time at the GROSVENOR CLUB which can be seen in your website, immediatley west of the " school " on Shirley St.
I was real estate manager at Hog Island ( Paradise Island )at that time and a frequent visitor of Sir Etienne Dupuch at the TRIBUNE OFFICE directly opposite the main gates of Centreville House you feature on this website.

Michael Paton ( Lennox Paton Law Firm ) also attended the same class as my son at that time.( 1967-68 ) I have quite a scrapbook of photos and momentos of that period.
My son also was a patient of Dr. Poad whose surgery office was on Collins just North of the current Chamber of Commerce and directly East of the St. Andrews School and sports field ,of that era.
I hope you will allow me to expand upon that historical, educational and inspirational aspect of the Collins legacy, including the " Collins Wall " and the storied past of stolen guinnepps and childhood michieff, by contributing to the website.

Congratulations on what you are doing and I hope to visit Nassau soon and see what the the results .

I continue to promote the Bahamas for real estate investment every day , and have close contact with the financial services and investment service providers in Nassau.

An incredible unfolding of your vision! It is encouraging to see the community so involved in the preservation of our culture and heritage.

Kudos, Antonius, as you continue to breathe new life into Centreville House! You are an inspiration to us all! ~V

Yesterday we spent a wonderful day at Centreville House. Watching all the kids planting herbs in the Agouti-shaped patch, walking the labrynth and climbing and swinging in the rubber tree was absolutely wonderful. Thanks to Desiree for suggesting her K-Klub friends come out and an even bigger thanks to all the parents who let your children come out. It felt reminiscent of my youth when I got lost for hours playing outside. The time was so well spent noone even missed their electronic toys, even my boys! I hope other families will soon be able to discover and enjoy this wonderful space. My kids are already asking the date of our next visit there!
Thanks to Antonius and his team for receiving us and organising everything.

Finally a much needed space for children to be able to enjoy the great outdoors while experiencing Bahamian history in a natural enviroment. My son Benjamin was a part of the Kiwanis group that came on May 2nd, they did not stop for two hours and they all thouroughly enjoyed themselves. They all really liked the labyrinth but the favourite was definatly the huge tree with the swings.I am sure that is one tree that was glad when we left:) As for the adults such a wonderfull space to just gather there was such a tranquil and serene feeling I did not want to leave. Congrats to all envolved and please keep us updated with future events. Thank you for a wonderfull space.
